iPhone is running iOS 9.3.1 (iPhone 5s). PlayMemories Mobile is version 5.5.0.
On Camera, use Menu to select Send to Smartphone (WiFi) > Select on This Device > This Image.
On iPhone, connect to WiFi SSID advertised by the camera.
WiFi display on phone shows check-mark against camera SSID; camera screen shows "Connecting..."
Start PlayMemories Mobile app on phone. App screen shows comms icon against Connect to Camera communication graphic.
Then before any pictures get transferred, the app times-out and displays "Failed to get status information of the camera". The camera screen still shows Connecting..
I have followed the suggestions to Restart App, turn off WiFi and start again etc. Nothing seems to fix this. I even re-installed PlayMemories Mobile app.
The first time I tried out the WiFi transfer to my iPhone, it worked. Now a day later it has stopped working. I have been unable to find anyone with a similar problem when scanning the community.
Any help would be most appreciated.
